Burglar and Intruder Alarms
At Central Surveillance Ltd we install wired and wireless intruder alarm systems for all property types.
You have the option of purchasing an APP for your intruder alarm which offers our customers control of their alarm from any location control from their phone.
What type of alarm you have depends on the layout of your home/business and the level of security you require. If you have a well-fitted and maintained intruder alarm system it will make you less likely to become a victim of burglary. But how do you choose the right one for you and your home/business? Below we talk through the different types of alarm systems and useful things to consider.
Types of burglar and intruder alarm systems
The best type of alarm for your home/business depends on your personal preferences, budget, where you live, what your home/business is like and what level of protection you need. A key consideration is what you would prefer to happen when your alarm goes off. Bells-only alarms make a noise, but does not contact anyone (such as the Gardai or the home/business owner). Speech diallers and text units, a device built inside an alarm, automatically contacts you or other nominated friends and family when the alarm is triggered. Alternatively, you could get a monitoring contract, whereby you would pay an annual fee for our monitoring station to take action or call the Gardai if the alarm goes off.
Wireless or wired burglar and intruder alarm
Alarms can be either wired or wireless. Wireless intruder alarms use battery-powered sensors that communicate with a control panel using radio signals. Wireless intruder alarms are an ideal choice if there are no cables run within a premises or no easy cable options. For aesthetics these systems are a great option.
Bells-only burglar and intruder alarm
When a bells-only (also called audible) alarm is triggered, it makes a loud noise, which will hopefully alert someone in the area to the situation and/or scare off an intruder. However, unlike a monitored alarm or one with a speech dialler or text unit, it won’t automatically contact a named person or the Gardai, so there is no guarantee that anything will be done.
